Monster From the Deep TV

Our store is trying to clear out every one of the monster sized TVs to make room for next year’s models and some of these things are ridiculous. There is this huge 55” high-def, fully loaded TV that I want so badly but I wouldn’t even be able to get that thing into my apartment. Oh well, at least I’ll get to watch the Super Bowl on them during our big tent sale.

We’ll have all of the clearance models out on display and even a couple of couches set up over the weekend so customers can come on by and get the “at home” experience. This weekend is going to be pretty hectic for us but I think that we will be able to manage them. I’m hoping that I’ll get a major discount on something good and maybe be able to get a couple of friends to help me haul one upstairs.

Trade My Show

My next trade show is coming up in about three weeks and I’m feeling pretty confident. I’ve got my new custom tent, my banners, my artwork, and my super XL cooler. I’m telling you, last year (my first year) was a disaster. I felt like a complete newb and kept asking questions about my setup to all of the veterans just about every 5 minutes. They were pretty nice to me but everyone told me that my first problem was that my tent looked like it lost to a trash compactor.

Sure it was old but I didn’t realize how bad it was until I finally won my 20 minute fight with one of the legs that had rusted shut. It was kind of embarrassing really but they were nice enough to help me out. I was also starving about half way through the day last year but now I’ve got coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner all planned and ready. Like I said, I’m feeling pretty confident this year.

Gear Head

I’ve been running my bike shop for almost 3 years now and business has been booming to say the least. We’ve been working hand in hand with several other companies around town to really push for people’s attention towards our new trails that wind throughout midtown and downtown. Since, our shop is right around the corner from one of the hub stops of that trail, we decided to setup a kind of prep and repair tent for all kinds of riders.

Our techs can inspect and repair a bike well within 10 minutes, unless we’re given a hunk of junk, and get people back out there to really enjoy the trails without worry. Sure, we encourage everyone to come into the shop and look around for some new equipment but we’re really about letting everyone enjoy what we enjoy. Having the freedom to just pick up and ride off is amazing. I think we’re gearing up at the right time too. Spring is coming out and people can’t even wait to get back outside again and I love every minute of it.

Viddy Van Gogh

It’s the last few days of summer camp and the kids are going wild. With all of our events leading up to the camp festival day, we’ve certainly had our hands full with trying to balance food, entertainment, and the award ceremony. It’s a fairly small event that we have but our staff likes to make it special for all of the camp goers and give them one last hoorah before they have to head back to school.

This year, I’ve been in charge of a lot of the arts and decoration stations so I’m going to have a kind of “Van Gogh” award for the crowd favorites. Each cabin will get to submit their collective piece of art which will hang on sides of the frame of the “Art Department” canopy. I feel that this is going to be a great exercise for them and hopefully they’ll get to share each of their artistic side but without all of the mess. Here’s hoping!
